The 2016 St. Lucie County XC champions will be contested at Lakewood Regional Park with 7 teams entered for the meet. 

This will be a good opportunity for those teams that didn't get a chance to race this past weekend due to the many cancellations attributed to Hurricane Matthew's rampage up the East Coast.

BOYS

Lincoln Park Academy will be favored to win the Boys race and will be seeking redemption from last year's runner-up finish to Ft. Pierce Central.  The State's 3rd fastest time this year irregardless of classification is held by Lincoln Park Academy senior stand-out Caleb Pottorff and he is about as good a lock as you can get at this time in the season.

Expect a close race for second between John Carroll's Luke Baxley, 3rd in 2015, and Treasure Coast's Alberto Ponce who's sole performance so far this year was good enough for a PR 18:40.8 and 117th place finish at the Spanish River Invitational.

GIRLS

With the majority of the season PR's occuring at the Spanish River Invitational, it's a pretty good indicator of the head-to-head match-ups we can expect in the Girls race.  The favorite will Lincoln Park's Sara Aube, a sophomore front-runner for the Greyhounds.   Lauren Macon and Brittini Pettway should be in the hunt for individual honors as well.

The team battle isn't in doubt.  Lincoln Park Academy won the County Championship in 2015 and will be looking for that perfect 15 if they can get some help from those harriers making up the top 5 for LPA. The race really is for 2nd.  Expect a close battle for runner-up honors.
